The German Edge Cloud (GEC) is a company within the Friedhelm Loh Group that specializes in providing turnkey edge and cloud solutions. GEC helps businesses from various industries, such as banking, fintech, education, and research, to achieve digital value creation. GEC focuses on developing custom cloud-based services that prioritize data protection and sovereignty.
One of GEC’s main areas of business is automating end-to-end cloud services and applications. Customers can choose from a range of standardized IaaS and PaaS options or use GEC’s tools to standardize and automate their own apps. GEC assists with migrating existing apps to the cloud, expanding and redesigning existing cloud-native applications, and managing the infrastructure, middleware, and managed services.
The location of the cloud is not a concern for GEC. The cloud can be run as a turnkey edge cloud at the location where data is generated or in GEC’s ISO 27001 data centers in Frankfurt am Main.
